want to use retro tv after digital switchover?

I have an old black and white TV which i love because its retro 60s, it’s more of an ornament really. I want to still be able to use it in the kitchen after digital switchover but it doesnt have a scart lead that i can put a digibox on, just an aerial socket at the back. is there anything i can do to still be able to use it?

Yes. Get a VCR with both scart and aerial sockets. (People are throwing them away these days – try Freecycle) Plug your aerial lead into the digibox (aerial input), the scart lead from digibox to VCR and an aerial lead from the VCR to the TV. You can also loop in an aerial lead from the digibox to the VCR, but this won’t do anything once the analogue signal is switched off.

Now tune the TV to the VCR. If you have a video tape, it makes it a lot easier. Set the VCR source to L1 and you’ll be able to watch digital pictures thanks to the digital to analogue converter in the VCR.
